We are delighted to share that Haiming Wang, our new PhD student, has published work from her previous role as a research assistant in Perspectives of the ASHA Special Interest Groups.

In “What Is the Impact of Speech-Generating Device Use on Speech Production by Autistic Adults?”, Haiming and colleagues examined whether speech-generating devices can support spoken language in autistic adults with minimal spoken language. The study found increase independent speech production and gains in vocal imitation, adding valuable evidence to the limited literature on communication interventions for autistic adults.

Congratulations, Haiming, on this important publication – we are so excited to have you join the team!
