We’re excited to share that our team recently presented three research talks at the 6th International Conference on Fragile X Premutation Associated Conditions: From Clinical and Molecular Diagnosis to Treatment, held September 8–11 at Hotel Covo dei Saraceni in Polignano a Mare, Italy.

Our PhD student, Thomas Christensen, presented on “Word Finding in Women with the FMR1 Premutation without FXTAS and Its Association with Preclinical FXTAS-Related Motor and Cognitive Symptoms.”

Dr. Jessica Klusek shared findings from two studies: “Motor Symptoms are Elevated in FMR1 Premutation Women Aged 44–81 Years Across Clinician-Rated, Quantitative, and Self-Report Measures, and in Association with Repeat Size Mosaicism” and “Genetic and Clinical Predictors of Functional Tremor Symptom Progression in Mothers with the FMR1 Premutation: A Longitudinal Study of 77 Women Spanning 26–79 Years of Age.”

It was a wonderful opportunity to engage with leading researchers in the field and gain the latest insights on FMR1 premutation–associated conditions.
