The LivJoy Foundation, which supports the work of our lab’s postdoctoral fellow Lauren Jenner, has partnered with the National Fragile X Foundation to launch the “Females with Fragile X Webinar Series.”

This new series aims to highlight the experiences of females with FXS – a group that is often underrepresented in discussions about the condition and whose needs can differ from those of males. The webinars focus on topics particularly relevant to girls and women with FXS, including physical and mental health, puberty and sexuality, and long-term life planning.

The inaugural session featured Dr. Jenner alongside LivJoy co-founder Rachel Clouse and NFXF Executive Director Hilary Rosselot. During the discussion, they shared insights from a recent community survey conducted by the National Fragile X Foundation and the LivJoy Foundation, which asked families what questions and topics they most wanted addressed regarding females with FXS. The session also included a Q&A exploring the lived experiences of females with FXS and highlighted female-focused research currently underway at the University of South Carolina. You can watch the interview here: https://vimeo.com/1173038353/f5d1363f7c
